Don’t throw away your vanilla beans after using them. They can have a second life and delight your taste buds all over again!
To do this, turn it into vanilla powder!
First, your vanilla beans need to be completely dry. If you’re patient, you can let them air-dry on their own. For those in a hurry, here’s a tip: Dry them in the oven at 40-50°C (104-122°F) for about ten minutes. Then break them up and blend them until you get vanilla powder. Finally, pour this vanilla powder into a small, dry, and especially airtight container.
That’s it—you’ve made your own vanilla powder, ready to flavor all your sweet or savory recipes! For measuring, use the tip of a knife, just as you would when scraping your vanilla beans.
Enjoy your tasting and happy indulging!
